10 To whom can I speak and give warning?
Who will listen to me?
Their ears are closed [a]
so they cannot hear.
The word of the LORD is offensive to them; they find no pleasure in it.

How true is this last line! Many people say that the Bible and the teachings of the Church are intolerant and offensive. God's word is being fulfilled even today


14 They dress the wound of my people
as though it were not serious.
'Peace, peace,' they say,
when there is no peace.

Think for one second about how we do this to one another. "Oh, don't worry about that, it is no big deal, everyone does that." There is so much that is serious today, and so much we say is ok. Christ, o sweet and precious Christ, give us a spirit of worship, a spirit of repentance, Your Spirit Lord, Come!
